Full disclosure before a word of comparison: OneTracker is an AI-first logistics platform, so this article evaluates a category we compete in. Read it with that in mind. We have tried to make the framework useful even if you never talk to us.
First, an identity clarification the marketing does not lead with: TMS.ai is not a new startup. It is Rose Rocket, the Toronto-built mid-market TMS, which rebranded its platform as TMS.ai in February 2025 and has since shipped a run of AI features (an OCR document bot, an AI dispatch co-pilot, an email-to-order assistant) on top of a TMS core that has been in market for roughly a decade. Three claims every AI TMS should prove in the demo
- Variation, not scripts: hand it your ugliest real inputs, the client who sends orders as photographed spreadsheets, and watch what happens. AI that only handles the clean cases is a rules engine wearing a badge.
- A visible approval layer: who signs off on what the AI proposes, where is the audit trail, and can autonomy be granted one decision type at a time? If the answer is “it just does it,” that is a liability, not a feature.
- A production customer with a baseline: not a pilot logo, a named operation that can state what a workflow cost before and after. The category is young; insist on the receipt.
The field, honestly labelled
Most alternatives worth shortlisting are not AI-native; they are strong conventional platforms in various stages of adding AI. That is not a dismissal. A mature TMS with modest AI can beat a young AI-native product on everything except the AI.
A modern cloud TMS whose automation emphasis predates the AI wave: workflow speed and fewer clicks per load. The pragmatic middle ground between conventional depth and AI-first ambition.
